An evening with Ib Ravn, lector at Aarhus University and Rasmus Hougaard, economist and external lecturer, on the role of banks and money creation.

Together with Rethinking Economics, Gode Penge and Critical Economists (KU) Business Unusual has been working on an open letter to professors on CBS, where we question the taught theories on banking and money creation. We wish to bring focus to the correct theory on how private banks create money through lending and thereby make a distance to the common understand of the National/European Centralbank as the only money creator.

As members of a economic social system, and present or future loan takers the macroeconomics effect of private bank's cooperate function is something that affects all. The subject is of significance importance in terms of understand financial crisis and housing bubbles.
